NPT MU controller with a built-in multiplexer is designed to collect data from conventional current and voltage transformers and transmit these data to bay controllers, relay protection and automatic equipment, emergency control automatics etc. according to IEC 61850-9-2LE (Sampled Values). NPT MU controller is used in the course of digital substation construction.

NPT MU is the most cost-effective solution for integration of the existing infrastructure (power equipment) into the control and automation system of digital substations. NPT MU can also be used at the medium voltage level (6, 10, 35 kV) in packaged switchgear for analog-to-digital conversion of data from current and voltage transformers installed in cells and for transmission of the converted data according to the standard protocol IEC 61850 - 9-2LE Sampled Values.

Use of a standard protocol enables integration of NPT MU with other digital substation devices, e.g., for differential protection of a power transformer in conjunction with digital current transformers at high voltage levels.

Flow of data from multiplexer devices can be reduced through calculation of the quality of electric energy with transmission of the data according to the protocol IEC 61850-8-1 (MMS).

Purpose:

Measurement data transfer from traditional current and voltage transformers in digital form according to the protocol IEC 61850-9-2LE.

Installation:

NPT MU controller with a built-in multiplexer is installed into the outdoor distribution device in close proximity to current and voltage transformers, as well as into cell for 6-10-35 kV.

NPT MU controllers are also fastened to the mounting plate with the use of standard mounting flanges located on the rear panel of the products. Structurally, NPT MU can be installed in an NPT microRTU cabinet.
