The 10^th international conference “Relay protection and automation of energy systems - 2017” took place in Saint-Petersburg (CEC Expoforum) between April, 25 and 28 (RPA-2017). The event was supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and Russian National Committee (RNC) SIGRE.   

RPA-2017 conference is an important industrial forum for experts in the field of development, projecting and operation of modern relay protection and automation complexes for energy facilities.

At the conference there was a lively discussion of current and promising areas of development of relay protection and automation systems. EnergopromAutomation is a member of International Council on large-scale high-voltage electrical systems (SIGRE) and takes an active part in the work of research boards (B5 – Relay protection and automation and D2 – Data management systems and telecommunications).  

During the session “Development of digital substation (DSS) technology”, representatives of EnergopromAutomation shared their experience of expansion of “Digital Substation” field testing at Nizhegorodskaya Hydro Plant.

During the session “Issues of RPA operation”, we spoke about application of common information model (CIM) for automation of technical maintenance processes and repairs of relay protection devices.

During the session “Cyber security issues of control systems in energy industry”, we spoke on a pending issue in our report “Meeting data security requirements of APCS of energy facilities”.    

RPA-2017 conference was complemented by an exhibition of technologies and relay protection and automation equipment for energy systems. At the stand of EnergopromAutomation LLC one could see proven software solutions and technical means for complex automation of energy enterprises:

In Saint-Petersburg we made a first presentation of our new developments in the field of software and hardware solutions:  

• SCADA NPT Compact  - a simple solution for creation of automatized workplaces while building automation systems for distribution networks, complete transformer substations and engineering systems of energy facilities;
• NPT RPA – multifunctional relay protection, automation and remote mechanics device for distribution units 6 – 35 kV.
• NPT Platform   - data management and analysis system for control over the processes of maintenance planning, diagnostics and evaluation of technical state of equipment, designed for automation of control over the assets of enterprises of energy, oil and other industries.

One could see the functioning of all software and hardware developments, ask questions and receive advice on the choice of technical solutions and equipment for various purposes, including non-standard applications.
